- Simmer apple cider until reduced to 1/2 cup, then cool.
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease donut pans.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
- Whisk egg, sugars, melted butter, buttermilk, vanilla, and reduced cider.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
- Fill donut molds 3/4 full and bake 10–12 minutes.
- Brush warm donuts with butter and roll in cinnamon sugar.
Notes
Use fresh spices for the best flavor. Donuts taste best warm.
