Ingredients
  

Brownie Base
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
Lemon Flavoring
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp lemon zest
Topping
  • powdered sugar for dusting, optional

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together melted butter and sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix well.
  3. Gradually fold in flour, baking powder, and salt until combined.
  4. Stir in fresh lemon juice and lemon zest.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
  6. Cool completely before slicing. Dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
