Ingredients
  

Blackened Shrimp
  • 1 lb shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp blackening seasoning
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.25 tsp cayenne pepper optional
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Stroganoff Base
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 cups mushrooms sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp flour optional
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 tsp paprika
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
To Serve
  • egg noodles or rice cooked
  • parsley for garnish

Method
 

  1. Season shrimp with olive oil, blackening seasoning, paprika, cayenne, and salt.
  2. Sear shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until cooked; set aside.
  3. Sauté onions and mushrooms in butter for 6–7 minutes; add garlic.
  4. Stir in flour (optional) and cook briefly.
  5. Add chicken broth and whisk until smooth; simmer 2 minutes.
  6. Add sour cream, heavy cream, Dijon, paprika, salt, and pepper; stir on low heat.
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet and combine with sauce.
  8. Serve over noodles or rice and garnish with parsley.

Notes

Adjust spice level by adding more or less cayenne. Serve with pasta, rice, or mashed potatoes.
