Method
- Brown the butter in a saucepan until golden and nutty, then cool completely.
- Toast chopped pecans in a dry skillet for 2–3 minutes.
- Whisk cooled browned butter and powdered sugar together until smooth. Add vanilla.
- Stir in flour, baking powder, and salt until a dough forms. Fold in pecans.
- Chill dough for 20–30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Scoop dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and gently flatten.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until edges are lightly golden.
- Dust warm cookies with powdered sugar and cool before storing.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough.
