Browned Butter Pecan Sandies
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Method
 

  1. Brown butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat until golden and fragrant. Let cool slightly.
  2. In a large bowl, combine browned butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually mix into butter mixture to form a soft dough.
  4. Fold in chopped pecans.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on parchment-lined baking sheet. Flatten slightly with a fork.
  6. Bake 12–15 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Cool on wire rack.
  7. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container.

Notes

Watch butter closely while browning. Can add chocolate drizzle or spices for variation.
