Method
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Add onions and salt; cook 20–25 minutes until caramelized.
- Add butter to skillet and sauté apple slices 3–5 minutes until tender.
- Butter one side of each bread slice. Place one slice butter-side down in skillet.
- Layer cheese, onions, apples, and more cheese. Top with remaining bread slice.
- Cook 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and cheese is melted.
Notes
Cook on low heat to allow cheese to melt without burning the bread.
