Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz pasta penne or rotini
  • 3 cups broccoli florets fresh
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1.5 cups cheddar cheese shredded
  • 0.5 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta and broccoli in salted water until tender, then drain.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet and sauté garlic briefly.
  3. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk and simmer until thickened.
  5. Stir in cheeses until smooth and creamy.
  6. Add pasta and broccoli and toss to coat.
