Ingredients
  

Latte Base
  • 2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup strong coffee
  • 2-3 Medjool dates pitted
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 0.25 cup hot water
  • 1 cup milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • cinnamon pinch
  • salt pinch

Equipment

  • Blender
  • Milk frother or saucepan
  • Coffee maker or espresso machine

Method
 

  1. Place pitted dates and hot water in a blender and let sit 2–3 minutes to soften.
  2. Add cocoa powder, cinnamon, salt, vanilla, and espresso or strong coffee. Blend until completely smooth.
  3. Heat milk until steaming, frothing if desired.
  4. Pour steamed milk into the blender and mix briefly to combine.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or chocolate level as needed.
  6. Pour into a mug and garnish with cocoa or cinnamon.

Notes

For extra creaminess, use oat milk. For iced variation, blend with cold milk and ice.
