Chocolate Orange Cheesecake

Ingredients
  

Chocolate Cookie Crust
  • 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 5 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
Cheesecake Filling
  • 24 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup sour cream
  • 3 eggs large
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 0.25 cup orange juice
  • 6 oz dark chocolate melted
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
Chocolate Ganache
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 4 oz dark chocolate chopped
  • 1 tsp orange zest optional garnish

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C). Prepare a springform pan with parchment.
  2. Mix cookie crumbs, melted butter, and sugar. Press into the bottom of the pan.
  3. Bake crust for 10 minutes then cool.
  4. Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  5. Add sour cream, vanilla, orange zest, and juice.
  6. Mix in eggs one at a time followed by melted chocolate and cocoa powder.
  7. Pour batter into crust and bake in a water bath for 50–55 minutes.
  8. Cool slowly, then refrigerate at least 4 hours.
  9. Make ganache by pouring hot cream over chocolate and stirring until smooth.
  10. Spread ganache over cheesecake, garnish with orange zest, slice and serve.

Notes

For best flavor, chill overnight before serving.
