Ingredients
  

Pretzel Dough
  • 1.5 cups warm water 110°F / 45°C
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup sugar for coating
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon for coating
  • optional egg beaten, for egg wash

Method
 

  1. Combine warm water, yeast, and 1/4 cup sugar; let foam 5–10 minutes.
  2. Mix flour and salt; add melted butter and yeast mixture to form dough.
  3. Knead dough 5–7 minutes until smooth; place in greased bowl to rise 1 hour.
  4. Preheat oven to 425°F and line baking sheets with parchment.
  5. Divide dough, roll into ropes, and shape into pretzels.
  6. Optional: brush pretzels with beaten egg for golden finish.
  7. Bake 12–15 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Mix sugar and cinnamon; coat warm pretzels while lightly brushing melted butter.
  9. Serve warm or store in airtight container.

Notes

Best eaten fresh; reheat in oven for a few minutes if needed.
