- Slice chicken breasts horizontally to make 4 cutlets. Season with salt and pepper.
- Prepare three bowls: flour; beaten eggs with water; breadcrumbs mixed with parmesan, garlic powder, and basil.
- Dredge cutlets in flour, egg, then breadcrumbs.
- Pan-fry chicken in olive oil until golden and crispy.
- Spread marinara in a baking dish and place chicken on top.
- Cover with more marinara, mozzarella, and parmesan.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes.
- Broil 1–2 minutes until cheese is bubbly and browned.
