Ingredients
  

Cottage Cheese Taco Dip
  • 2 cups cottage cheese full-fat or low-fat
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning 1 oz
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup diced red onion
  • 0.5 cup diced tomatoes half for topping
  • 0.5 cup diced bell pepper red or green
  • 0.25 cup chopped fresh cilantro half for topping
  • 1 small jalapeño finely diced, optional
  • 1 whole avocado diced, for topping
  • tortilla chips or vegetables for serving

Method
 

  1. Combine cottage cheese, sour cream, and taco seasoning in a medium bowl until smooth.
  2. Fold in shredded cheddar, red onion, bell pepper, and half of the tomatoes.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  4. Top with remaining tomatoes, avocado, jalapeño, and cilantro before serving.
  5. Serve chilled with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.

Notes

Add avocado just before serving to prevent browning. Can be made a day ahead.
