- Cook bacon in a large pot until crispy. Remove and set aside.
- Add butter to bacon drippings and sauté onion, garlic, and celery.
- Add flour and stir 30 seconds if using.
- Stir in potatoes, chicken broth, and seasonings.
- Simmer 15–20 minutes until potatoes are soft.
- Add shredded chicken and cook 5 minutes more.
- Stir in cream and warm gently without boiling.
- Mix in bacon or reserve for topping.
- Serve topped with parsley and extra bacon.
