  • 4 oz chipped dried beef sliced
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk whole preferred
  • 0.75 tsp black pepper or to taste
  • 4 slices bread toasted

Method
 

  1. Slice chipped beef into bite-size pieces.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet and whisk in flour to form a roux.
  3. Gradually whisk in milk and cook until thickened.
  4. Stir in chipped beef and heat through.
  5. Season with black pepper and serve over toast.

Notes

Rinse beef briefly if extra salty.
