Ingredients
  

Pasta & Sauce
  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 0.75 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Skillet
  • Wooden spoon
  • Colander

Method
 

  1. Cook penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve some pasta water and drain.
  2. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and simmer gently until slightly thickened.
  5. Stir in grated parmesan cheese and seasonings until smooth.
  6. Add cooked penne and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
  7. Use reserved pasta water if needed to loosen the sauce.
  8. Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add grilled chicken, shrimp, or sautéed mushrooms.
