Method
- Place chicken, carrots, celery, onion, and garlic in slow cooker; add broth and seasonings.
- Cook on low 6–7 hours or high 3–4 hours until chicken is tender.
- Shred chicken with forks and return to slow cooker.
- Melt butter in pan, whisk in flour, then stir into slow cooker to thicken.
- Mix flour, baking powder, salt, melted butter, and milk to form dumpling dough.
- Drop dumplings onto simmering stew, cover, and cook 30–40 minutes until fluffy.
- Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
Dumplings are best fresh. Leftovers can be reheated gently with extra broth.
