Ingredients
  

Fruit Base
  • 2 cups cranberries fresh
  • 3 cups strawberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 tbsp orange zest
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
Sugar & Spices
  • 4 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp ground cloves
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 1.75 oz powdered pectin 1 packet

Equipment

  • Large pot
  • Mixing spoon
  • Potato masher
  • Glass jars with lids
  • Boiling water canner (optional)

Method
 

  1. Add cranberries, strawberries, orange juice, orange zest, and lemon juice to a large pot and heat until softened.
  2. Mash the fruit gently with a potato masher.
  3. Stir in powdered pectin and bring to a strong boil.
  4. Add sugar, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Stir until dissolved.
  5. Return mixture to a rolling boil for 1 minute.
  6. Check gel consistency using a chilled plate.
  7. Ladle hot jam into clean jars, leaving 1/4-inch headspace.
  8. Process jars in boiling water bath for 10 minutes if long-term storage is desired.
  9. Cool jars and store properly once sealed.

Notes

For smoother jam, blend half the fruit before cooking. Great for gifting!
