Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken breasts or thighs cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup cornstarch
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for pan-frying
Sauce
  • 0.5 cup honey
  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch slurry 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions sliced, for garnish

Method
 

  1. Coat chicken in flour and cornstarch mixture after dipping in beaten eggs.
  2. Pan-fry chicken in batches until golden and cooked through.
  3. Simmer honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger in saucepan.
  4. Add cornstarch slurry to sauce to thicken.
  5. Toss cooked chicken in sauce, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crispiness, fry chicken in small batches and ensure oil is hot.
