Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup sliced cucumber
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

  1. Heat vegetable oil in skillet over medium heat and cook ground beef until browned.
  2. Add garlic and ginger, cooking 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and black pepper. Simmer 2–3 minutes.
  4. Divide rice into bowls and top with beef, shredded carrots, sliced cucumber, and green onions.
  5. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve immediately.

Notes

Optional: add a fried egg on top or drizzle with sriracha for extra flavor.
