Ingredients
  

Beef Mixture
  • 1 lb ground beef 85% lean
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes optional
To Serve
  • 2-3 cups cooked rice white or brown
  • 2 green onions sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
Optional Veggies
  • steamed broccoli, carrots, or bell peppers optional

Equipment

  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Cook ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
  2. Stir in soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook 3–5 minutes until sauce thickens.
  3. Prepare rice according to package instructions.
  4. Divide rice into bowls and top with Korean ground beef mixture.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds. Add optional steamed vegetables.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave.
