Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Toss blackberries with sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Set aside.
- Pour melted butter into a 9×13 baking dish.
- Whisk together flour, sugar, milk, baking powder, and salt to form a smooth batter.
- Pour batter over the melted butter without stirring.
- Spoon blackberry mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir.
- Bake 45–55 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
- Cool slightly and serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
For a thicker filling, increase cornstarch to 2 tablespoons. Frozen berries do not need to be thawed.
