  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce bold or smoky
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 10 oz short pasta penne, rotini, shells, etc.
  • 0.5 tsp chili flakes more for heat

  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp parsley chopped, for garnish

Equipment

Method

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a skillet. Add sausage and brown on both sides.
  2. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add uncooked pasta, chili flakes, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine.
  4. Pour in chicken broth, BBQ sauce, and honey. Mix well.
  5. Cover and simmer for 12–15 minutes until pasta is tender.
  6. Uncover and cook a few minutes more to reduce sauce into a glossy glaze.

Notes

Add cheddar or smoked gouda for a cheesy version. Adjust spice by adding more chili flakes.
