Ingredients
  

Sausage Gravy
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage mild or spicy
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 tsp salt adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper or more to taste

Method
 

  1. Brown sausage in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  2. Add butter to the cooked sausage and let it melt.
  3. Stir in flour to coat the sausage and cook for 1–2 minutes.
  4. Slowly pour in milk while stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
  5. Simmer 5–7 minutes, stirring often, until the gravy thickens.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper. Serve hot over biscuits.

Notes

If gravy thickens too much, stir in a splash of milk before serving.
