Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 0.5 cup white rice uncooked
  • 1 head green cabbage chopped

Equipment

  • Large pot or Dutch oven
  • Wooden spoon
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Method
 

  1. Brown ground beef in olive oil.
  2. Add onion and garlic; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in rice, broth, tomato products, and spices.
  4. Add cabbage and bay leaf.
  5. Simmer until rice and cabbage are tender.

Notes

Soup thickens as it cools and tastes better the next day.
