Ingredients
  

Pork Noodles
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 8 oz egg noodles
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger grated
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes optional
  • 2 green onions sliced for garnish
  • sesame seeds for garnish
Cabbage Slaw
  • 2 cups shredded green cabbage
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 0.25 cup red bell pepper thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp honey
  • to taste salt and pepper

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Cook egg noodles according to package directions. Drain and toss with a little sesame oil. Set aside.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground pork and cook until browned, 5–7 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger; cook 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir and simmer 2–3 minutes.
  5. In a medium bowl, combine shredded cabbage, carrots, and red bell pepper. Whisk together rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, salt, and pepper. Toss with vegetables.
  6. Assemble bowls with noodles first, top with pork mixture and a scoop of cabbage slaw.
  7. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra crunch, toast the sesame seeds. Adjust spice level by omitting or adding crushed red pepper flakes.
