Method
- Grease the slow cooker with butter or cooking spray.
- Layer half of the potatoes, ham, onions, garlic, and cheese, then repeat.
- Whisk butter and flour; add milk, cream, and seasonings to make sauce.
- Pour sauce over ingredients in slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours.
- Sprinkle with cheese during last 15 minutes; cover to melt.
- Garnish with parsley before serving.
Notes
For extra creaminess, stir in sour cream before serving.
