Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 6 bone-in skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
Soy Garlic Sauce
  • 0.33 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
Garnish
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds optional
  • 2 green onions sliced

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat chicken thighs dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Sear chicken skin-side down for 5–7 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip and cook 2 minutes more.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, garlic, honey, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  5. Pour sauce into skillet around the chicken and transfer to oven.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  7. Rest 5 minutes, garnish with sesame seeds and green onions, and serve.

Notes

For thicker sauce, simmer pan sauce on stovetop for 2–3 minutes after removing chicken.
