Ingredients
  

Beef Filling
  • 1.5 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp curry powder
  • 0.5 tsp cumin
  • 0.5 tsp garam masala
  • 1 cup peas and carrots mixed
Mashed Potato Topping
  • 2 lb potatoes peeled
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 0.5 cup milk

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Potato masher
  • Baking dish
  • Oven

Method
 

  1. Boil and mash potatoes with butter and milk.
  2. Cook onion and garlic in olive oil.
  3. Brown ground beef and add spices.
  4. Stir in tomato paste and broth, then vegetables.
  5. Transfer to baking dish and top with potatoes.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) until golden.

Notes

Can be assembled ahead and baked later.
