Ingredients
  

Steak & Marinade
  • 1.5-2 lbs steak flank, skirt, sirloin, or preferred cut
  • 0.33 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • fresh herbs for garnish

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet
  • Wire rack
  • Hand mixer or stand mixer

Method
 

  1. Whisk balsamic vinegar, brown sugar, olive oil, soy sauce, garlic, mustard, salt, and pepper together to form the marinade.
  2. Add steak to a bag or dish and pour marinade over it. Refrigerate 30 minutes to 8 hours.
  3. Remove steak from marinade and pat dry for a good sear.
  4. Grill, pan-sear, or broil steak 4–6 minutes per side until desired doneness.
  5. Let steak rest 5 minutes before slicing.
  6. Slice against the grain and garnish with fresh herbs.

Notes

Excellent for meal prep. For maximum tenderness, marinate at least 4 hours.
