Tennessee Onions

A classic Southern side dish made with sweet onions baked in butter and topped with melted cheese.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 sweet onions sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter sliced

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease baking dish.
  2. Slice onions and layer in baking dish.
  3. Season onions with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Top with butter and shredded cheese.
  5. Cover and bake 30 minutes.
  6. Uncover and bake 20–25 minutes until golden.

Notes

Use sweet onions for best flavor.
