Ingredients

Alfredo Sauce
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 pinch nutmeg optional

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Whisk
  • Cheese grater

Method

  1. Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Season with salt, pepper, and optional nutmeg.
  6. Simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  7. Serve warm tossed with pasta or as a dipping sauce.

Notes

Use freshly grated Parmesan for the smoothest sauce. Keep warm until serving to prevent thickening.
