Ingredients
  

Donut Dough
  • 3.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2.25 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 0.25 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • 1 egg large
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp vanilla extract
Glaze
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 3-4 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Activate yeast in warm milk with sugar until foamy.
  2. Mix flour, salt, yeast mixture, butter, egg, and vanilla to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead dough until smooth and elastic, about 8–10 minutes.
  4. Let dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled in size.
  5. Roll out dough and cut into donut shapes, then let rise again until puffy.
  6. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry donuts until golden on both sides.
  7. Whisk glaze ingredients until smooth and glossy.
  8. Dip warm donuts into glaze and let set before serving.

For best results, glaze donuts while slightly warm and maintain consistent oil temperature for even frying.
