White Sauce Penne Pasta

Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz penne pasta
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups milk warm
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.75 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Italian seasoning optional

Method
 

  1. Cook penne pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk and cream, stirring constantly until smooth.
  5. Simmer until sauce thickens, then add Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  6. Add cooked penne pasta and toss until fully coated.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan if desired.

Notes

Add pasta water to adjust sauce consistency if needed.
