Ingredients
  

Pizza Base
  • 1 lb pizza dough
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
Toppings
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella sliced
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 0.25 tsp salt
Finishing Touches
  • fresh basil torn
  • olive oil for drizzling
  • parmesan optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet or pizza stone

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Stretch pizza dough into a 12-inch circle and place on parchment.
  3. Mix olive oil and garlic; brush over the dough.
  4. Layer mozzarella, lemon slices, lemon zest, crushed red pepper, salt, and black pepper.
  5. Bake 10–12 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  6. Finish with basil, olive oil, and optional parmesan.
  7. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

Slice lemons paper-thin so they caramelize and mellow in flavor.
